I love the detail in the wings of the dragons. It's as if you were there and seeing the creatures in person. You can't help but notice the veins and fibrous tissue that seems to let light filter through. Your technique is awesome.

Hi Chris, been a fan since the early days and since the the old Fighting Fantasy gamebooks covers. Still have the Armies of Death one as a giant replica on my wall with several other laminated replicas like Temple of Terror, also from the series, and Titan, and lots of others. Basically the only art that goes on my walls. Your art got me to start drawing and painting in the early 80's and I've never stopped enjoying it. Thanks for the many years of inspiration!

Hey Chris, Well you've heard it over and over again on how amazing your work really is and yes it really is! I was inspired by your early book in 1979 when my older brother brought it home. From that age (9 then) I was determined to draw and become an artist. Your work did inspire me I studied art and design and I now own my own arts company. I think however that this so called "friend" that stole your work should be brought to justice. It horrified me that someone could do such a thing. I seriously hope you get your work back its a crying shame! Anyway keep up the good work!

I had the Sirens book since my days in the art school. Inspiring, and challenging to the wannabe graphic artists at the time. Finally, architectural modelling got me first. Still, I am very happy to find out, such art will be among us for a very long time through the internet. Master, my respects...

Chris, I have been a fan of yours for many years. Since I was given your first card series in 1992. I was homeless and living in a shelter. Michael Friedlander was helping many of us through different programs and private funding. A group of us were interested in art and Michael gave us boxes of trading cards. I must have looked at your cards for hundreds of hours. It helped me pick myself up and make a living from my own art. Eventually I made it to the Art Institute of Pittsburgh and am now making a good living as a graphic designer. I am proud of myself for coming as far as I have in the last 15 years. And I credit your work for inspiring me when I was at my lowest point. Thank you for continuing to inspire me to this day. I hope to meet you in person one day and shake your hand. Tom

Wow!!! I woke up today to go to work as I do every day and teach digital art and one of my student came in with a copy of the Medusa book by Chris that I used to have ( and I must say copy ) when I was a boy at school. Chris in all honesty was the driving force behind my path in art and design. Now `I'm a photographer and love what I do. I must get my old badger airbrush out and do some airbrushing.
Thank you so much for the hours of inspiration Chris. Regards. Sean

I had to send you a message, as I was just sitting in my office at home doing a bit of work (I'm a teacher), and two framed photos of your book covers (The Abominable Snowmen and the first Tom Baker Monster Book) were looking down at me from a shelf and I had to stop for a few moments to admire them. Just to let you know, that as a kid your book covers meant the world to me; in fact I am probably fonder of them than I am of the Doctor Who television series. The cover for Abominable Showmen I am particularly love as that was among the first Who books I ever got from the library when I was about eight years old. Anyway, just wanted to congratulate you for all the great work, and say "thanks" for enriching my life. Keep up the good work. James

Hi Chris, I followed up on your web site after going through boxes of books in my loft.. I'm 40 years old now and as soon as I saw them old Dr Who covers it brought back all the nostalgia and excitement I felt as a kid in the 70's.. Your covers were an integral part of the story for me and captured the essence of the book perfectly. I remember lying in bed at night looking at the marvellous artwork and being totally in awe! Equally, your use of colour was fantastic. I used to always look for your name in small print, always at the edge of the picture! Now I can get in touch with you and thank you for the effort you put into each of your covers.. ! Thank you
