Dr Who Book covers : Chris's first commission to illustrate three Dr Who book covers came in 1973 and in the next few years he produced over 30 covers for Target series, becoming something of a cult figure in his own right with the readers. Pressure from other work forced him to move on in 1976. The varied and exciting visual from his illustrations, each one summing up the spirit of the programme itself, largely contributed to the success of the book series and introduced a legions of new devotees to the show as a result.

In 1982, the Dr Who Appreciation Society commissioned Chris to produce a limited edition print to celebrate 2 decades of the series. which rapidly sold out.

For the lauch of the new Dr Who TV series in March 2005, Chris was asked by SFX Magazine to paint a new picture featuring Christopher Eccleston as the new Doctor. The painting was reproduced as a center-fold and a special gift folded poster.
